To submit a found poem, make sure it follows the rules, and then email the necessary information (pasted into the body of the email or as an MS Word attachment) to:
Necessary Information:
- Original author’s name.
- Original publication details. For books: book title, page number, publisher, publication date. For articles: magazine name, page number, volume number, etc. For online sources: web address and date found (or best guess). For anonymous finds: details as to where you found the text (location, date, etc.) Feel free to include a note with more details about the submission and/or where you found the text.
- Finder’s name, location, email address (contact information will not be published). Finders may request the poem be posted anonymously, but we still need a real name for our records.
- Found text lineated as a poem, with or without a title. If you’d prefer to have us add the line breaks, that’s fine, too, just include the source text and let us know.
Payment: The Found Poetry Project exists for its own sake. We don’t make any money, and finders receive no compensation. However, if you have a website you would like us to link to (personal or recommended), include it with your submission, and we’ll add it to our Finders’ Club links list when we publish the found poem.
